A Gentle Guide

What Is Somatic Breathwork?

The body keeps the story — the breath helps it let go. Here is how this ancient practice works, what it feels like, and how to experience it inside the circle.

The Practice

Breathing With the Body, Not Against It

Somatic breathwork is a body-centered healing practice. Where talking works through the mind, somatic breathwork works through the body itself — using a continuous, connected rhythm of breath to gently move what has been held: stress, grief, old emotion, the quiet tension of everyday life.

The breath we practice in ceremony is circular and open — a gentle, non-forced rhythm without a pause, honoring the primal ancestral roots of sacred breath that began with creation. We often begin with a dharma reflection to set the tone with intention, integrating somatically through brief ecstatic dancing, then a lying-down guided journey accompanied by music and sacred instruments.

There is nothing to fix, nothing to do — just be. The breath does the work; your only task is to receive.

Why People Come

The Gifts of the Breath

🌊

Release What the Body Holds

Stress, grief, and old emotion settle into the body as tension. A continuous, connected breath gently loosens what words cannot reach — this is the somatic release at the heart of the practice.

💜

Calm the Nervous System

Slow, guided breathing invites the nervous system out of vigilance and into deep rest — a state of heart coherence where presence and connection naturally return.

Awaken Inner Vision

The breath elicits the bliss chemicals naturally released in the pineal and pituitary glands — clarity, insight, and a feeling of unity, without any external substances.

🌕

Come Home to Yourself

Beyond technique, somatic breathwork is a remembering — a journey inside your own heart, connecting with your spirit and awakening your soul.

Questions, Dear One

Everything You Were Wondering

What is somatic breathwork?

Somatic breathwork is a body-centered practice that uses conscious, connected breathing to release stored tension and emotion. “Somatic” simply means “of the body” — rather than talking through an experience, we breathe through it, letting the body complete what it has been holding.

What does a session feel like?

Most breathers describe waves of sensation — tingling, warmth, emotion rising and passing like weather. In our ceremonies you lie down in a comfortable place, guided by music, crystal singing bowls, and Rose's voice, with room for the body to move freely.

Is somatic breathwork safe?

The breath we practice is gentle and non-forced — a circular, open rhythm without strain, always at your own pace. You are safely and sovereignly guided, and you may soften or pause at any moment. If you are pregnant, or living with a cardiovascular or serious medical condition, please check with your doctor first and let Rose know before we gather.

How do I try it?

The most supported way to begin is in a guided container. Our community ceremonies gather online via Zoom on a sliding scale of $3–$33 — you bring a cozy space at home, and the breath, bowls, and sacred scent do the rest.
